SOCIAL ACTIONS

Le Fort de Mutzig, la Feste Kaiser Wilhelm II

Partnerships with social integration associations

The Fort de Mutzig association has been working with various social organizations for many years. From the first international youth workcamp in 1997 to the present day, the association’s integration projects cover a wide range of fields, from clearing undergrowth and maintaining green spaces to painting and carpentry.

Young people from Rechtspflege Ortenau at work

Rechtspflege Ortenau

The ‘Rechtspflege Ortenaukreis’ association has been maintaining the Fort’s green spaces since 2009.
A major brush-cutting operation has been carried out to improve visibility of the firing trenches and increase views towards the Rhine plain and Vosges mountains.
Seasonal maintenance work on the slopes and firing trenches is carried out entirely by the association’s young members.
The Franco-German nature of the fort restoration project also lends an important dimension to these work camps.

L’UAEJ (Strasbourg Educational Day Activity Unit)

The Protection Judiciaire de la Jeunesse has signed a partnership agreement with the Fort de Mutzig for restoration and painting work.
This project offers a wide variety of technical interventions for these young people, with a strong educational dimension. The training of European citizens is also one of the aims of this partnership, with a Franco-German restoration project.
