AN INTRUDER IN THE FORT PARKING LOT
Feste Kaiser Wilhelm II
A rare example of German rmoured cuppola from 1936 (424P01 for the M19 mortar).
The armour standard from 1890 to 1914 provided for a thickness of 19cm.
The artillery will make enormous progress during the First World War, making this standard obsolete. New standards will be developed (A to C). Here a turret for a 50mm automatic howitzer meeting standard B: thickness of the cuppola: 40cm.
